Cabardes (Jouclary, Chateau)

Syrah, Grenache, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from Chateau Jouclary, Cabardes, Languedoc-Ro

Vintage: 2011
Description: Chateau Jouclary, Cabardes, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2010 Syrah, Grenache, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Spice, Leather, Perfume, Black Fruit, Gravel Although the origins of Cabardes date back to the 1200s, this AOC wine region was established in just 1999! On the northern border of the Languedoc-Roussillon, Pascal Gianesini use both Bordeaux and Rhone varietals in a region that receives both Atlantic and Mediterranean ocean influences. This is old-world in style with a rustic gravelly edge, lots of spice and guts with a slightly yeasty finish. This is the sort of gem you would find while traveling in France, but rarely seen outside of the area. Serving Suggestion: A wine for hunters and not gathers - wild game, grilled meats, hearty cheeses.
