Giuseppe & Luigi Anselmi Pinot Grigio
Vintage: | 2022 |

Description: | Sustainably Farmed. Fermented in stainless steel under a Co2 cap to preserve freshness and minimize use of sulfites. This results in a medium-bodied, dry-but-fruity style of Pinot Grigio. Its gently vibrant energy gives life to the pure flavors of ripe pear mixed with white blossom and sweet almond notes, and finishes cleanly. No pesticides or fungicides are used. Cover crops and mowing between rows contributes to the soil's humus content. This is one of the great, quality wineries in Northeast Italy. Ettore Anselmi first planted vines in 1937 after he bought his first hectare outside the town of Pocenia in the heart of sunny Friuli. The gravel and sandy soils are a great home for the indigenous variety Pinot Grigio. Today, brothers Giuseppe and Luigi Anselmi continue the family estate. They both studied enology at schools in Trentino, and have traveled to the Veneto and Tuscany to visit other quality wineries and learn new techniques. The local success of their wines has grown the estate to 80 hectares of vineyards. Each wine is produced with moderate yields, temperature controlled fermentation and no oak. To produce wines at this high level of quality combined with tremendous value is amazing. The wines are clean, expressive, delicious, and full of life. |
