| Description: | Jim Maresh makes fresh, lively, and truly Burgundian-styled Pinot Noirs from his family's property in the Dundee Hills of Willamette Valley. Their vines were planted in 1970 on the recommendation of Dick Erath, and are now the fifth oldest vineyards in the area. They are non-irrigated vines (dry farmed), and have always been organically farmed since day one. Very small amounts of new oak are used, as to not overpower the nuances of the wines, and typically only a few hundred cases are produced of any given bottling. Long story short, Jim Maresh intervenes minimally, and let's the farming do the talking. Judging by the scores his wines receive, we think he's made the right moves!. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 95 Points - "The 2022 Pinot Noir Old Vines has explosive aromas of raspberry, strawberry, tangerine, licorice, fern and amaro. The light-bodied palate is just as gregarious, bursting with fruit and spice that accent a concentrated core of berry fruit. It has a luxuriously silky texture, fireworks of fresh acidity and a very long, layered finish." |
