Description: | 5 Stars 2021 Platter's South African Wine Guide Quintessential new-wave Swartland blend of Shiraz (56%), grenache, cinsaut, tinta in 18 ***** (95 pts), much like 17 (93 pts). Foot-trodden whole bunches, on skins 6 months in concrete. Subtly perfumed, with layers of bright aroma & real purity persisting to poised palate. Both rich & almost austere in its restraint, powerful & light, succulent & dry. A fine bargain for the ages. 95 pts Greg Sherwood Mw March 2021 Another of Adi's signature wines, using 5 to 6 different varieties fermented in concrete, some portions in tank and then they are transferred back into concrete with around 10,000 bottles produced. Nose shows delicious complexity with savoury, meaty, red fruited notes with hints of back currant, black olive tapenade and raw marinated meat. The palate shows a lovely balance and elegance, textural finesse and seamless mouthfeel where one variety melts into the other. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. A truly delicious wine. |
