| Description: | The Distillery Manager's selection is a limited release selected by Bowmore's David Turner. Vintage single malt distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2019. About the distillery Bowmore is a distillery that produces scotch whisky on the isle of Islay, an island of the Inner Hebrides. The distillery, which lies on the South Eastern shore of Loch Indaal, is one of the oldest in Scotland and is said to have been established in 1779. The distillery is owned by Beam Suntory who also own the Auchentoshan, Glen Garioch, Laphroaig and Ardmore distilleries and produce the Teacher's Highland Cream blend. A very special release from Bowmore which was only available from the distillery on Islay. A 1997 vintage matured in first fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads before being selected by the distillery manager as perfect for bottling. This has been compared by some as having a similar flavour profile to the mystical first edition Black Bowmore. Released in 2019 and is one of only 3000 bottles. |
