(mw, Web-2019) K&L Notes. Pahlmeyer havested their Sauvignon Blanc between mid-August and mid-September to cap an excellent 2018 growing season. The grapes were hand-sorted and pressed as whole clusters and the wine was fermented and aged in only neutral French oak barrels to obtain the texture and complexity of a barrel-fermented wine but retain the acidity and freshness as unmarked by new wood. The winery describes, "Our 2018 Jayson by Pahlmeyer Sauvignon Blanc reveals bright pear and white peach aromas with tropical notes of pineapple and hints of fresh cut flowers. The palate is clean and focused, with crisp green apple notes and a rich, round palate with wet stone on the lingering finish. Balanced acidity makes this wine a perfect pair for oysters, crab cakes, or lobster bisque.". |
