In 2014, it's mostly "Melanson Vineyard" on Pritchard Hill. 60% new French oak, aged 12-16 months. A lot going on here: smell and taste cassis, Chambord, black & blueberries, baking spices, yogurt, violets and freshly-opened humidor. Tannins present but unobtrusive, brisk acid. 20+ second finish. Jeff Ames, winemaker extraordinaire. |
