Dating back to 1780 this has a nice long history and a following that has been growing exponentially for decades. On the nose you find fruit cake packed with orange, raisins and apricot along side of sandalwood, linseed oil. soft leatherall very enticing. The palate is big, creamy, friendly, intense but never over bearing. The flavors are mouth-filling, with buttery hints of spice balanced inside of a lush opulence with barley malt and nutty sherry notes dancing to the end. This is genuinely arresting whiskey that is a charming pleasure to drink; try it neat, as a shot, on ice, in a cocktail or with a 'Pickle Back'. |
