| Description: | Labels are made from 100% recycled materials\r\nTASTING NOTES\r\nAromas of fresh apricot and nectarine mingle with ripe quince notes. Juicy and bright, the palate offers up succulent nectarine, melon and vibrant lemon. Approachable, light and succulent, there is great harmony between the fruit and acidity. The appeal continues with satisfying length and gentle pear drop nuance on the finish.\r\nWINEMAKING NOTES\r\nThe grapes were handpicked during the early morning hours at optimal ripeness and transported to the cellar. The fruit was both de-stemmed and whole bunch pressed and the\u00a0 juice was settled overnight. All parcels were kept separate and racked into fermentation with carefully selected yeast strain cultures. The wine spent time on the lees in stainless steel tanks, before being blended and bottled.\r\nAbout Protea\r\nProtea is the national flower of South Africa.\r\nWhile the Protea range focuses on prolonging the life cycle of the product it does so in a variety of innovative ways. Drawing comparisons between the art of winemaking and wine as art by applying Cape inspired prints to each bottle and encouraging the creative reuse of the bottle. It also speaks to sustainability through the use of the Amorim Helix cork, a twist-to-open, ergonomically designed stopper made from cork agglomerate, which both preserves the wine ritual of cork and the convenience of resealing a bottle of wine. Lastly, and most importantly the wine is an ode to our Cape Terroir and the many variations of it. |
