Albamar Albarino
Vintage: | 2022 |
---|---|
Description: | Organically Farmed. This is a medium-light-bodied white, with a subtler, saline-drenched citrus & apple/pear profile, and drier finish, than the average Albarino. This is perfect with simply-prepared fresh seafood dishes!. James Suckling 93 Points - "Dried pineapple, salted lemon, roasted hazelnut, smoke and flint on the nose. Its medium-bodied with tangy acidity. Vibrant, flinty and textured. Dried lemon on the long finish. Drink now or hold.". "Xurxo knocks it out of the park constantly with this 100% Albario pieced together from multiple parcels (around 10 hectares) of vines organically grown over granite and schist soils. All the harvesting is done by hand with direct press of whole clusters, and 2 fermentations (both spontaneous with indigenous yeasts) partially in stainless steel and neutral oak, but with no malolactic fermentation. This helps to preserve the freshness and acidity of the finished wine, imparting no flavors of oak but rather allowing the wine to breathe. Aging is 6 months in stainless steel sur lie and bottled unfined, slight filtration and low S02 at bottling." - Selections De La Vina |
