Resonance Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 750mL

Vintage: 2022
Description: When Wine Spectator (one of the leading wine publications in the world) releases their "Top 100" list, it truly creates a frenzy for any producer who has a wine mentioned on it. Last year with a 94-point score, the Resonance 2021 Pinot Noir was ranked #9 on that list. Well, the 2022 was just released, and it received the same 94-point score !. Oregon produces such inspiring, complex, and classically-styled Pinot Noirs, that families from Burgundy (the most historic Pinot Noir region in the world) have invested in the region for nearly 40 years. From the Drouhin Family, Dominique Lafond, even Jean-Nicolas Meo (of the prestigious estate Meo-Camuzet) all have their names tied to high-scoring Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs. With Resonance, it's the same driving force behind Louis Jadot at the helm of this ship!. It was Spring of 2013, and Jacques Lardire had just retired after leading winemaking at Maison Louis Jadot for 42 years. He was looking for an Oregon property to buy with Thibault Gagey, whose family operated the Maison since 1962. They immediately fell in love with a property in the Yamhill-Carlton District of the Willamette Valley, and after tasting through dozens of wines made with the vineyard's fruit, Jacques sat back and said, "Perfect.". By encouraging biodiversity on the vineyard floor, using organic farming practices, and controlling crop yields for optimal ripening, Resonance believes that devoting themselves to their vineyards through sustainable, hands-on viticulture is the first step in great winemaking. The Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from Resonance is sourced from two of their estate vineyards (Resonance in Yamhill and Decouverte in Dundee Hills), along with top vineyards in the Willamette Valley. Resonance will only work with like-minded wine growers throughout the area who share their commitment to cultivating terroir-driven Pinot noir. The result is a cuve that offers an authentic representation of the Willamette Valley Ava. A beautiful bright ruby color for this expressive wine, with aromas of blueberry, raspberry, orange peel, rose, lavender, black pepper, and morel mushroom. The palate is generous, fresh, and fruity, and the tannins are well balanced by a pleasant acidity: a wine that is very alive!. So here's a Pinot Noir, same 94-point score as last year, same price as last year. will it be on the Spectator "Top 100" list again? Only time will tell, but the odds are in its favor!. Wine Spectator 94 Points - "Fragrant raspberry and fresh violet aromas lead to elegantly layered cherry, mineral and savory tea flavors, with a silky mouthfeel that slowly builds tension on the polished finish. Drink now through 2033."
