Fillaboa Albarino
Vintage: | 2023 |

Description: | The 173 acres of vineyards owned by Fillaboa are all located at rather high elevations for the region on the southern tip of Galicia, nestled next to the River Mio that divides Portugal from Spain. Each of the vineyards is planted only with Albario, whose vines can reach a height of 6 to 7 feet. Fillaboa's expert vineyard management team carefully manages each vineyard block and performs an annual primary harvest in July to eliminate smaller clusters and excess leaves. Typically, one-third of the fruit is dropped to ensure that the best quality wine will be made from the remaining fruit. Winery Notes - "Straw-colored yellow with a bright and clear appearance. Very aromatic with notes of pineapple, apple, stone fruits and hints of citrus. Slightly reminiscent of yogurt. Outstanding intensity and frankness. On the palate the attack is smooth and elegant, with great structure, good balance of flavours and well integrated acidity. A lush, smooth and elegant wine with a lingering aftertaste." |
