| Description: | Domaine de la Begude was founded in 1996 by brothers Guillaume and Louis Tari but the walls of the cellar have been in existance since the 7th century. The estate was producing wine in the 16th century and some ancient vinification tanks have been discovered in the caves. The estate today is run by winemaker Guillaume and his wife Soledad. Guillaume is huge proponent of Bandol wines and is also the head of the Bandol AOC. The estate produces 65% Mourvedre, 25% Grenache and 10% Cinsault and the average age of the vines reaching 25 years old. The estate measures 1,240 acres of which 70 are planted with vines. Guillaume is extrememly devoted to elaborating wines that express the Bandol terroir. |
