Producer Established in the 1750s by winemaker Pietro di Mastro Berardino, Mastroberardino is Campania"s most renowned winery. Pietro was awarded the professional title of Mastro as testament to his skill in quality winemaking, a tradition that continued uninterrupted for 10 generations and lives on to this day. Vinous 92 points - Pale golden-tinged straw. Herbs, hazelnut and apricot complicate green apple aromas. Ripe and suave, but good juicy cut lifts the pomaceous orchard fruit and saline flavors on the long back end. Strikes me as another very successful Fiano Radici, deeper than many other recent vintages. (Nov 2018). Wine Spectator 90 points - Fresh thyme and honeysuckle notes lead to flavors of Asian pear, slivered almond and lemon curd in this fresh, focused, medium-bodied white. A tang of salinity drives the finish.
