| Description: | A deft but perceptible application of wood sets off slightly riper yet still cool and pure aromas of green apple, pear, lemon-lime and oyster shell. The tender but still punchy medium-bodied flavors possess excellent depth for a villages level wine along with very fine length on the mouth-watering finish. Lovely and one to look for. Burghound 90-92 Outstanding!. Pale to mid lemon in colour. Less obviously Chablis on the nose as the wood elevage ads its own contribution, though neither is there anything overtly oaky. Heavenly on the palate, clearly fuller bodied than most village Chablis but with a sense of precision and an exceptionally long aftertaste. Now the marine minerals can clearly be detected. Deeply admirable wine. Jasper Morris 91. The broadest shouldered of these lieu-dit bottlings is the 2020 Chablis Bas de Chapelot, a medium to full-bodied, textural wine evocative of orange oil, beeswax, white flowers and fresh bread.
