Vinified in stainless steel, this is a round and finely savory Veltliner with fine phenolic grip on the finish. Excellent! 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in September 2022. Wine Spectator - 90 Points - A lively, vibrant version, with lemon-lime acidity supporting white peach, tangy apple and crunchy pear. Shows good definition and drive, with a flinty core of minerality and a kiss of smoke and vanilla on the finish. Drink now through 2028. Falstaff Magazine - 91 Points Pale greenish yellow, silver reflections. Fine herbal spiciness, delicately reminiscent of white apple, somewhat of papaya, grapefruit zest. Juicy, fresh acid structure, elegant, lively and mineral, white fruit notes, lemony aftertaste, long finish. This is a blend of Gruner Veltliner grapes from organically farmed terraced sites in the Kamptal, and is intended for early drinking. The nose is lightly citric with a hint of white peach. The attack is fresh and lively, the texture crisp, there's a trace of sweetness on the finish but it's balanced by the acidity. It shows surprising weight of fruit given the modest alcohol. Quite long. |
