The main reason is that most of it is snatched up by thirsty Spaniards before it has the chance to leave the country. Established by Segovian restauranteur and sommelier Jose Maria Ruiz, it has become one of the crown jewels of Ribera del Duero wines. Pago de Carraovejas 2022 is a subtly matured and slightly full-bodied red wine. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of dark fruits such as blackberries and plums, complemented by a hint of vanilla and sweet spices due to its barrel aging.
