400 Conejos Espadin - Tobala Mezcal 750ml
Mezcal
Description: | Manufacturer's Notes: According to native Mesoamerican religious traditions, the priests were the only ones who could establish a channel of comminication with the gods. To achieve it, they practiced ritual drinking of beverages made from agave. Such drinks were exclusively for religious ceremonies and for the spiritual elite. The gods were called collectively centzon-totochin ( 400 rabbits) in Nahuatl. The number 400 was synonymous with "innumerable" and "uncountable." It is believed that the spirit of the 400 rabbits carries on to this day in each bottle of this fine mezcal. Town: Tlacolula-Yautepec. Milling Type: Stone pulled by horse. Fermentation Type: Wooden tub. Distillation Type: Copper pot still. Oven Type: Volcanic earth pit |
