2020 Napa Cellars Merlot

Description: Winemaker Notes

Napa Cellars Merlot boasts aromas of dark fruit, plum, and dried herbs. Flavors of black plum and blackberry are complimented by toffee and mocha notes. This medium-bodied wine showcases bright and balanced acidity with firm tannins and a long finish.
About Napa Cellars
Our view of the world is one that can only come from Napa Valley. From here, we see history and heritage. We see vines cascading down hillsides and dotting the valley floor below. We see a vast collection of soils coexisting across a mere 30 miles, creating some of the most unique growing conditions of any wine region in the world. We see cooling breezes floating across sun-drenched vineyards, balancing the warmest of days with the gentle respite of Pacific air. We know there are few places on earth that grow grapes like ours.
We know it’s our calling to make wines that honor this terroir in its purest expression. We’ve been making wine here for more than 40 years. Our winery sits on the original five acres that established Napa Cellars winery in 1976 along historic Highway 29 in Oakville. We still welcome guests to our tasting room in the geodesic dome commissioned by founder Charlie Woods. And we tip our hats to the prominent Napa families, from the Franks to the Rombauers, who graced our cellar during its storied early days. Today, we carve our own path, building on that rich heritage to craft wines that are a classic, unmistakable interpretation of Napa Valley.
We craft Napa Cellars wines from our estate, sustainably farmed vineyards, as well as those of our esteemed partner growers, who share our meticulous dedication to the coveted terroir of Napa Valley.
Napa Valley is the first agricultural preserve in America. The valley is just 30 miles long and a few miles wide, yet its reach is immeasurable. Ideally suited to grow a variety of wine grapes—thanks to millennia-old volcanic and marine soils and a Mediterranean climate shared by just two percent of the globe—Napa Valley is synonymous with world-class wine.
