Description: | 92 Vm / 92 De. Dark violet. Displays spice- and smokeaccented dark berries and licorice on the nose, along with a floral top note. Plush and open-knit, offering sappy blackberry, cherry and allspice flavors that slowly firm up through the back half. Closes long and spicy, with even tannins adding shape to a lingering dark berry note. -- Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media. Smoky thyme. Fresh, fine, balanced and drinkable. Good grip and power on the finish. Remarkably bright acidity. Very strict, gently saline. From vineyards around Ampuis but just outside of AOC Côte-Rôtie. Some young vines, some old. Two thirds whole bunch. - Matt Walls, Decanter |
