The sunny days, cool nights, constant breeze and abundant rainfall create an idyllic environment for growing and cultivating juicy, fresh sugarcane. Once the sugarcane is harvested, fermented and distilled into rum, it is matured in used bourbon and Scotch whisky casks for up to 12 years.Mantuano is aged for up to eight years, and is blend consisting of Column, Batch Kettle, and Pot Still rums and distilled from molasses and sugar cane honey. Each bottle of Diplomatico features the image of Don Juancho. Dark and richly flavored with a texture to match â oily and sticky. It is made the same as the Blanco expression, but has one key difference: the Abv is now 47% Due to Venezuelan law, rum cannot be bottled until it is as least two years old. However, in this case some of the rums are aged up to six years. The blend is then charcoal filtered up to six times, removing all colour and creating a very refined, smooth white rum, perfect for mixing a mojito or daiquiri. A very unique white rum. |
