Agustn Formigo Raa, his wife Mara del Carmen de la Fuente de la Torre and their son, winemaker Manuel Formigo de la Fuente, the Formigo family of viticulturists and winemakers, has been closely connected with wines from the Ribeiro for many generations in the village of Beade, near the old town of Ribadavia, which has an important 13-15 century Jewish quarter. Manuel Formigo's Finca Teira with about 65% Treixadura is the equivalent of a 1er Cru quality wine, reminiscent of the best wines of the Loire Valley. Terra X, also Treixadura-based is the equivalent of a Grand Cru. |
