| Description: | The Frank Family winery was first constructed in 1884, part of the Larkmead winery. The beautiful stone building was refinished with native sandstone from the nearby hills in 1906 and today, is on the National Register of Historical Places and listed as a Point of Historical Interest in the state of California. Frank Family produces distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir and Petite Syrah. The Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is made of 80-85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10-15% Merlot, 5-10% Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc depending on the vintage. Aged in new, one year and two year old French oak barrels, this wine has the perfect balance of fruit, oak and tannins. T his excellent Napa Cab was one of the highlights during our last trip to the Napa Valley. Owned by Rich and Connie Frank, Rich Frank is a former Disney exec who relishes his role as a Napa Valley vintner, and produces wines of high quality and complex character. |
