Morlet Pinot Noir "COTEAUX NOBLES" Sonoma Coast 750mL
Vintage: | 2019 |
---|---|
Description: | This is the personal label of Luc Morlet and his wife Jodie. Luc created Newton Vineyards Chardonnay Unfiltered, a collector favorite that's received 96 points from Robert Parker, Jr. He then became the head winemaker for Peter Michael Winery and crafted their wines from the 2001-2005 vintages, where he made a 98-point Cabernet-blend and a 99-point Chardonnay!. "Noble," designating the most interesting grape varietals, is extended to this unique hillside vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. The cool maritime breeze and sunny mountain climate make it ideal for Pinot Noir. Handcrafted with classical Burgundian techniques, this wine is also a tribute to the Nobles family which has been farming this vineyard for four generations. Jeb Dunnuck 95+ Points - "The 2019 Pinot Noir Coteaux Nobles comes from the Nobles Ranch Vineyard in the Fort Ross-Seaview region and is another perfumed, complex wine from Morlet. Offering Cote de Nuits-like dark cherry and strawberry fruits as well as forest floor, flowers, orange tea, and spice, it's a rich, full-bodied effort with good acids, a more firm, focused texture, and outstanding length. Give bottles a year or two, and it should drink nicely through 2031.". Antonio Galloni 95 Points - "The 2019 Pinot Noir Coteaux Nobles is gorgeous. Crushed raspberry, kirsch, spicecake, new leather and orange peel give the 2019 striking aromatic presence. Silky and gracious in feel, the 2019 is an absolute delight from the very first taste. Today, the 2019 is all sensuality.". Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 94-96+ Points - "The Coteaux Nobles Pinot Noir comes from 28-year-old vines planted at the Nobles Ranch vineyard in Fort Ross-Seaview Ava. A barrel sample, the pale to medium ruby-purple colored 2019 Pinot Noir Coteaux Nobles slips sensuously out of the glass with a provocative perfume of red currant jelly, raspberry preserves and rhubarb crumble with suggestions of violets and fallen leaves plus a waft of mossy tree bark. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with juicy red berry layers, supported by plush tannins and seamless freshness, finishing on a lingering earthy note. 380 cases are to be made." |
