Description: | Seehofs vineyards in Germany's Rheinhessen region, are dominated by limestone-rich soils, which provide optimal growing conditions for earth-driven, high acid fruit, and with Pinot Noir, it is the perfect marriage. There is no soil that transmits such a vital acidity, no other red grape that has such delicacy, such energy. What results is kinetic, tension-filled, and sophisticated in structure. Although many of the countrys winemakers seek to emulate the concentrated style of Klaus Peter Keller, at Seehof, Florian Fauth does just the opposite, pursuing clarity and freshness above all. However, the Keller influence isnt totally lost on Seehofs wines, as Klaus Peter is Florians brother-in-law! The 2020 Ros of Pinot Noir is lively and soil-influenced, showing notes of tart cherry, strawberry, and wet stones. Seehof, farms some of the most famous vineyards in Germany's Rheinhessen region. Fauth has holdings in Morstein and Kirchspiel, two vineyards that Keller has made legendary. The climate is cooler than what you would find in Provence, France, and endows Seehof's Ros with an incredibly lavish and polished acidity. The climate is cooler than what you would find in Provence, France, and endows Seehof's Ros with an incredibly lavish and polished acidity. |
