The Zacapa difference begins with the first pressing of the virgin sugar cane, which is grown in Southern Guatemala. There is no place better suited to grow sugar cane thanks to its mineral rich volcanic soil and the numerous rivers that nourish the area. The results of this difference in raw materials are noticeable depth in the primary aromas and flavors of Zacapa. Zacapa rums are aged in the cool air of the Guatemalan highlands. 2,300 meters above sea level. these conditions allow the rum to mature more slowly in the barrels and obtain exceptionally deep aroma. rich color and profound flavor. Zacapa Xo is a unique balance of complex aromas and flavors resulting from the exclusive blend of reserve rums. We hand select rums aged for at least 10 years in our unique Sistema Solera. Older rums are then blended as they age in a sequence of barrels that previously stored robust American whiskeys, delicate Sherries, fine Pedro Ximenez wines and finished in French oak casks which previously aged Cognac. |
