Quixote Petite Syrah Helmet Of Mambrino
Vintage: | 2010 |

Description: | "The colorfully named 2010 Petite Syrah Helmet of Mambrino resonates off the palate with intense waves of black fruit, mocha, chocolate, espresso and licorice. A dark, sumptuous wine, the 2010 stands out for its exceptional sense of harmony. The fruit is so rich, there is virtually no sensation of tannin. Layers of dark, brooding fruit built to the inky, opulent finish. The Mambrino isnt for everyone, and some may find it a bit over the top, but this is a wine loaded with personality. Although quite approachable today, I would be tempted to see how the 2010 might age. It is drop-dead gorgeous, though, and should offer compelling drinking for the next decade-plus. The Helmet of Mambrino was worn by Don Quixote in Cervantess Man of La Mancha. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020." - Antonio Galloni, robertparker.com (Dec 26, 2012) |
