| Description: | An ultra-fresh nose speaks of both red and dark berries, earth and a gamy hint. The delicious and solidly intense middle weight flavors possess good delineation that carries over to the youthfully austere and saline-inflected finale that is linear and highly persistent. This could use a bit more depth though again, the structure is more than enough for that to occur. Burghound 89-91 Outstanding!. Rich royal purple, the bouquet is rather lovely also, in a heady raspberry mode with some vigorous fresh strawberry too. Very long finish, full of energy, good acidity, not too powerful and with a racy and juicy long finish. 13.5% alcohol. Tasted: November 2021 Jasper Morris 91-94. Unfurling in the glass with notions of cherries, red berries, cassis, loamy soil and peonies, the 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Champerrier is medium to full-bodied, velvety and nicely concentrated, with melting tannins and a long, saline finish.
