| Description: | Decanter 94 Points - "Citrus flavours meld with buttery wood notes to give a richly textured wine with a very long finish. Its precise and crystalline, but needs a little more time to fully knit together, although has clear potential to age extremely well. Le Petit Chemarin is a parcel to the east of the village of Bu and is a mix of mainly limestone but also some clay-limestone. The grapes are harvested by hand into small boxes and fermented in a mix of wooden vats and oak barrels, then spending 12 months in wood. The 17-hectare domaine is very long established, and Clment and Florian are the 20th generation. It is one of the top Sancerre domaines and I am always impressed by their ambition to continually improve their wines rather than rest on their reputation." |
