| Description: | Hawke's Bay is a hotspot for New Zealand's red wines these days and it is refreshing to see. A blend of 40% Merlot, 36% Syrah, 14% Tempranillo, 8% Malbec and 1% each of Cab Franc and Cab Sauv, the wine capitalizes on the poor soils and warm weather. The flavors of the two main grapes dominate, with dark plums, chocolate, blackberry, cassis and a touch of red plum. A mild oak presence softens the acidity and rounds out the finish for a wine that is open for business. |
