Villadoria Langhe Rosso Bricco Magno

Nebbiolo

Description: The grapes come from carefully selected vineyards in the Langhe and Roero areas. The geological conformation of the land and exposure of the selected vineyards result in the production of high quality, desirable grapes. Wine maker notes Vinification The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and soft crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Maceration lasts about 20 days. Ageing After malolactic fermentation, the new wine is decanted into small French oak casks where it ages for about a year. The wine completes its ageing in large 88 hectolitre casks for a further two years. Technical notes Alcoholic strength 13,5 % Vol. Food pairing Meat starters and entrees. Ripe cheeses. Serving temperature 18-20 C. It is recommended to open wines an hour before serving. Producer In long ago 1887, Daniele Lanzavecchia was born in a difficult land, outside Monferrato, near Alessandria. Times were hard, and two world wars in succession did not make life easy; but it was in those sad times that the idea of creating something took root. Starting with a small vine cuttings nursery, so began the tradition and love of the Lanzavecchia family for this plant, which holds within itself a part of our civilization's history and the eternal relationship between man and nature. Later it would be Pietro, Daniele's son, who would realize that the area most suited for the cultivation of grape vines is the Langa. It was here that in 1959 he created the company as it is known today, buying vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba, and later building the winery together with his son, Daniele. Nowadays it is the latter who runs the company together with his daughter Paola.
