| Description: | Tasting notes The Colli di Lapio Fiano di Avellino appears straw yellow in color in the glass. The nose is fresh, elegant, and fruity with notes of white peach, nuts, and white flowers. The palate is rich, quite soft, and fresh with a medium to full-body and very long persistence. Rating There is a nice intensity to the 2018 Fiano di AvellinoRomana Clelia, but you need to wait for it. That aromatic intensity is appreciated in the context of an easy-drinking wine such as this that should pair with all kinds of vegetarian dishes. This wine cruises steadily somewhere between second and third gear; however, there is interesting complexity and depth as well. A whopping 80,000 bottles were made, but the wine does a great job of presenting the purity of this grape without too many extra bells or whistles. Anticipated Maturity: 2019-2022 (Wine Advocate Review). Technical notes Fermentation in stainless steel vats with temperature control, maturation on the lees in steel tanks for 4-6 months. Finishing in the bottle for 6 months. |
