The goal: to produce Pinot Noir with depth of flavor, vibrancy and suppleness. For this wine we brought together fruit from three distinct terrains along Oregon\u2019s premiere Western vineyards which harmonize beautifully when blended as one. The diversity of these districts along with a lengthy growing season create wines with intense structure, while maintaining a vibrant acidity that sets them apart from other wines.\r\nWinemaking\r\n\r\nPinot Noir is at its most pure and nuanced when grown in a temperate, cool climate. The delicate attributes of the grape and its tendency for early maturation means that Pinot Noir requires lower temperatures and ample sunlight to achieve optimal ripeness. Grown in the foothills of Oregon\u2019s coastal range, an ideal location for the resonant style of Elouan Pinot Noir.\r\nThe name Elouan means \u201cgood light\u201d, which is reflective of the typically cool summers, yet abundant sunshine found in this northern hemisphere winegrowing region. The unique climate, diversity of soil types and the gentle sunlight influence on both canopy and fruit, form the foundation of this wine\u2019s northern character.\r\n\r\nCopper Cane Wines\r\nWith a focus on innovation and genuine craftsmanship, Copper Cane Wines & Provisions houses a collection of brands that are crafted to offer a touch of luxury for everyday indulgence. The current portfolio includes: Elouan Pinot Noir from Oregon, Belle Glos Pinot Noirs from prime California coastal vineyards, Beran Zinfandels of California, Carne Humana Red and White Blends from Napa Valley, and Steorra, a Brut Sparkling wine made of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in Sonoma County\u2019s prestigious Russian River Valley.\r\nAbout Joe Wagner\r\nAs a fifth generation Napa Valley winemaker, Joseph learned his way around a vineyard long before he was able to drink wine. By the time he was 19 he knew that he would continue his family\u2019s winemaker legacy, working alongside his father at Caymus Vineyards. In 2001, he created Belle Glos, with a focus on vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs from California\u2019s best coastal regions.\r\nMore recently, he has launched a number of new brands under Copper Cane Wines & Provisions. Joseph has a keen interest in contributing to the evolution of the wine industry, by discovering new winegrowing locations and experimenting in the cellar.\r\n\r\n\r\nHis love for Napa wine and the singular fusion of natural elements, history, and spirit found in the Napa Valley are the foundation for Quilt.\r\nJoe lives in Napa Valley, has six children, and maintains a healthy balance between his family life and a passionate dedication to his business. |
