Vintage: 2014
Winery: Zaha
Description: 93 pts Vinous July 2017 (14% alcohol): Bright ruby-red. As much wild red berries as black on the nose, along with lovely floral and mineral high notes. Savory, dry and densely packed, showing alluring floral reserve, a minty nuance and rocky minerality. A distinctly understated high-altitude wine with terrific lift and a light touch. Finishes savory and very long. Drink: 2019-2025. 92 pts Wine Advocate Dec 2016 The 2014 Zaha Toko Vineyard El Corte is a co-fermentation of Malbec with around 25% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Paraje Altamira appellation. There are herbal aromas and flavors and it's very tasty, almost saline. This is always a subtle blend where the two varieties complement each other, elegant and harmonious. The palate combines power and elegance, fresh for a ripe vintage. 5,000 bottles produced 92 pts Wine Enthusiast Feb 2017 Floral aromas of orange peel, rose petal and violet blend with more typical scents of tar and char. This Malbec blend is linear in feel but full, without an ounce of flab. Lightly spiced berry, red plum and chocolaty oak flavors finish toasty and tight, but with give. Drink 2017-2023. Alcohol 13.9%.
