Margaux Grand Vin La Sirene de Giscours 750ml

Vintage: 2015
Description: Grapes: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. Region: France> Bordeaux> Haut-Medoc> Margaux. Notes: 2nd label of Chateau Giscours (Grand Cru, 3rd growth). Description: Chateau Giscours has a long, rich history, which can be traced back to the 14th century. The first vines were planted in 1552 by Pierre de Lhomme. The terroir is like no other, located in the Margaux appellation, in the commune of Labarde and Arsac. Three magnificent gravel hilltops deposited by the Garonne river at the beginning of the Quaternary era is one important reason for its unique and complex character. Today, the winemaking team has been supported by heavyweights such as Frederic Ardouin from Latour and Dr. Kees Van Leeuwen of Cheval Blanc. The wine comes from a selection of their youngest vines. The vines are hand picked and hand sorted, then placed in concrete vats for fermentation. Aged in 100% French oak (fine grain and medium toast) for 12 months. The Giscours estate makes stellar, terroir-driven wines of superior quality and ageing potential.
