Kuyen

Red Blend from Maipo Valley

Vintage: 2011
Winery: Antyal
Description: Kuyen is made by Alvaro Espinosa, who is widely regarded as one of Chile's finest wine-makers. It is made bio-dynamically and is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère and Petite Verdot. Kuyen means "moon" in the Chilean Mapuche language. This wine has a youthful purple color with spicy cherry, blackcurrant, licorice and pipe tobacco on the perfumed nose. It is big and rich but juicy, offering lively dark berry flavors and notes of candied rose and bitter chocolate. It is focused on the finish with dusty, fine-grained tannins and a kick of tangy acidity.
