Ramey Syrah Rodgers Creek Vineyard

Ramey Syrah Rodgers Creek Vineyard

Syrah

Vintage: 2010
Description: 98 Rating! Robert Parker Jr. The 2010 Syrah Rodger's Creek Vineyard flirts with perfection. From a cold, windy site planted on volcanic soils, the Syrah was co-fermented with 9% Viognier and aged 27 months in new French oak. A stunning perfume of bacon fat, bouquet garni, acacia flowers, black raspberry jam and kirsch moving toward black currants and blackberries is followed by a complex, gorgeously proportioned, opulent, full-bodied Syrah. It should drink well for a decade. This killer wine priced at $60 competes with a Cote Rotie costing $350-$500 a bottle. Producer Ramey Wine Cellars is dedicated to creating high quality, handcrafted wines with balance and richness from the areas finest vineyards. Our philosophy is our process: Its about respect for the land. Nature guides our process and we listen closely. Its about terroir. The vineyards are selected for their ability to sustainably produce the highest quality fruit. The soil must be right for the climate, which must be right for the terrain, which must be right for the varietal. Its about harmony the marriage of Old World methods with New World innovations. Its about a family of wines crafted for the now, but even better with age. Bold, but in check, sensual, these are wines in perfect balance. Ramey Wine Cellars. Guided by passion and a commitment to goodness in the glass.
