| Description: | The Prisoner Wine Company, a California producer based in Rutherford, was established in 2010 by Huneeus Vintners as its marketing arm for The Prisoner (a Napa Valley red blend) and Saldo (a Zinfandel from some of California's most revered vineyards). Those wines were acquired from Dave Phinney, the original winemaker and founder of The Prisoner under Orin Swift Cellars. In April 2016, Constellation Brands, Inc. acquired The Prisoner Wine Company's portfolio of brands from Huneeus Vintners. The portfolio now includes five fine wine brands led by The Prisoner. The others are Saldo, Cuttings, Blindfold and Thorn. |
