Champagne Valentin Leflaive Brut Rosé Champagne

Description: This exciting new project is from the Leflaive family of Olivier Leflaive fame. Champagne Valentin Leflaive represents a unique interpretation of champagne and its grape varietals. Made with elegance and precision, each cuvée is a celebration of minerality, finesse and complexity. They call these Champagnes 'Origin' : the letters on the labels explain the terroir (the villages where the grapes come from), the numbers indicate the year of the base and then dosage. This modern approach underlines the assertiveness of a new player in the champagne sector- Valentin Leflaive-which is all about transparency. Ma|16|60 Brut Rosé Valentin Leflaive is composed 51% Pinot Noir and 49% Chardonnay from the grand cru villages of Le M esnil sur Oger (49%) in Côte des Blancs and A mbonnay (51%) in the Montagne de Reims. The soils consist of flint and chalk from the Upper Turonian for Mesnil sur Oger and Clay and Limestone (Senonian chalk) for Ambonnay. The base wine is from the 20 16 vintage and aged for 7 months in stainless-steel vats. The reserve wine added was aged in Burgundy barrel; the barrels had been previously used to make grands crus wines from Olivier Leflaive. Following the secondary fermentation, the wine was aged for 20 months in the cellar. The final wine has a dosage of 6.0 g/L. Look for enchanting notes of raspberries, wild strawberries, rose petals, orange zest and minerals. The palate is precise and fresh with sensual notes of small red fruits and salty minerals that titillate our taste buds. We have tasted this gorgeous Rosé champagne twice and we positively love it. You must try this and experience a very special new release. Pair with all shellfish dishes, wild salmon, cheeses & charcuterie.
