| Description: | In the heart of unspoiled nature between the Loire and Layon, the Domaine de la Roche Moreau extends over 28 hectares. In the centre of the vineyard, our tasting chalet offers a panoramic view of the Loire Valley and the hillsides of Layon. Below, on the banks of the river, is our winery: a former listed 17th century residence. Winegrowers from father to son for five generations in St Aubin, specializing in vintage wines from 1980 to the present day, we produce all the appellations presented here including the very famous Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume And Quarts De Chaume Grand Cru: sweet white wines with a golden color, known to be two of the best vintages in the region. On this very hilly estate, our harvests are carried out exclusively by hand and for the Coteaux du Layon, Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume and Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru in several successive selections, which allow us to obtain wines of great finesse. We work in sustainable viticulture with natural grassing while respecting the terroir. After vinification in oak barrels, our wines for laying down are stored in a former coal mine dug into the rock, which ensures an ideal temperature and humidity for the conservation and good aging of the wine. In these vaulted and captivating cellars, a wooden door opens onto another world where exceptional vintages lie dormant. Wines for laying down or nectar to taste, lovers of prestigious wines are not mistaken. We obtained Hve certification: High Environmental Value in 2018. |
