| Description: | Roger Belland is the fifth generation of Domaine Belland wines. The Domaine is based in Santenay and the vineyards extend over 23 hectares, which are mainly located in Maranges, Santenay, Chassange-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Volnay. Santenay 1er Cru Gravière wines are produced in one of the most famous Santenay "climat". This particularly well exposed "terroir" produces rich wines, that benefit of a very good potentiality for the aging. Coming from 35 years old Pinot Noir vines. Terroir is stony clay-limestone soil rich in iron. Matured for 1 year in French oak barrels - 40% new oak.5800 bottles/year Color is pure ruby, bright. Aromatics are refreshing blend of red and dark fruits, with a hint of minerality. On the palate you will taste ripe fruits and noble tannins. A fine spicy finish. To be served with game or Coq au Vin. |
