| Description: | This is a new bottling from Marchesi Antinori's estate in the Castel del Monte area of Puglia. Made from a single vineyard of Cabernet Franc, it shows the Antinori signatures in its refined and deep character. It shows clear aromas of spice (licorice and pepper) and herbs (like tobacco, rosemary, and undergrowth) that tinge the ripe citrus and foresty dark fruits (blackberry, black cherry, blueberry), along with accents of cacao and vanilla pod. The wine is vinous but crisp with a long tapered, mineral finish, with echoes that reminiscent of the sea breezes through the Mediterranean scrub. This is a wine you might want to hold onto for years to come, or enjoy sooner after a few hours in the decanter. A wonderful partner for rack of lamb. |
