At the same time, big, rich, silky tannins form a backbone that allows the wine to show its expressiveness and pedigree. The 2009 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. In 2009, the blend is 80% Syrah, 14% Grenache and 6% Roussanne, all destemmed. The wine spent 30 months in French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.
