Pol Roger Brut Blanc de Blancs (750ML)

From Champagne

Vintage: 2015
Description: 94 Ws / 94 JS / 94 We / 93 Wa / 93 Vm / 93 Jd. Sleek and minerally, this elegant Champagne is crisply lacy in texture, with notes of Asian pear, lemon preserves, salted almond and white blossoms that are lightly honeyed and juicy throughout. Shows good drive on the firm, lingering finish. Drink now through 2034. -Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator. So much bread dough on the nose, together with green-apple and pear undertones that follow through to a full body with soft, creamy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Subtle and polished. Drink now.-James Suckling. Pure Chardonnay given a rich treatment has resulted in a Champagne that is now mature. The wine is ripe, its mineral edge fully integrated into the white fruit flavors. It is well ready for drinking. - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast. After the pillowy, chiseled 2013, Pol Roger's 2015 Brut Blanc de Blancs is cut from richer, broader cloth. Offering up aromas of crisp golden orchard fruit, white flowers and subtle hints of warm biscuits, it's full-bodied, broad and vinous, with a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and a precise, chalky finish. In style, it's reminiscent of a somewhat more sun-kissed version of the 2012 rendition.-William Kelley, The Wine Advocate. The 2015 Brut Blanc de Blancs marries textural intensity with a good deal of freshness. White pepper, dried herbs, chalk, mint and citrus make a strong opening impression. I especially like the energy and tension here, but there's plenty of depth, too. I would give the 2015 a year or two in bottle, maybe more, as it is quite reticent in the early going. It, too, is seriously impressive for the year. Disgorged: July 2021. Dosage is 7 grams per liter.-Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media. Coming from all the Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs, the 2015 Champagne Grand Cru Blanc De Blancs has a bright silver/yellow appearance and needs a second to open in the glass and reveal notes of fresh pear, candied lime, white flowers, and fresh bread dough. Medium-bodied, it fills the palate and has a broader mouthfeel but remains in check, with a light chalky mouthfeel and pithy fresh citrus, which is characteristic of the savoriness of the vintage. It has a clean and mouthwatering finish. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. 7 grams per liter dosage.-Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck
