Description: | 92 Bh / 91-93 Jm / 92 Ws. Tasting note: There is an interesting suggestion of sweetness to the layered nose of red cherry, acacia, lavender and anise scents. There is impressive volume and concentration to the bigger bodied and just as mineral-driven flavors that are not as refined but do offer fine depth on the equally austere and compact finale. There is good power and punch and this is a wine that will need at least 6 to 8 years of cellaring first. Outstanding –Allen Meadows, Burghound. From exceptionally old vines, 90 year old, with an acceptable yield of 24 hl/ha. Not especially deep in colour, but quite sensual on the nose. Lovely aromatics, the whole bunch component (15%) gives a tingle factor, really well balanced and very long. There may be a trace of acetate which can be cleaned up when the wine is racked Tasted: October 2020 –Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy. Compact, spicy and earthy, this red displays mint, black cherry, blackberry and vanilla flavors. Long, ending with echoes of dark fruit and spice. Well-marked by new oak and should find a nice equilibrium with time. Best from 2025 through 2042. 75 cases made, 20 cases imported. - Bs, Wine Spectator |
