| Description: | 96 JS / 94 Wa / 94 De / 92 Ws / 92 Vm. Very pure aromas of black cherries and fresh flowers, such as roses. Dried orange peel as well. It's medium-bodied with a fresh and solid core of fruit and ultra-fine tannin. From organically grown grapes. It's so delicious to drink now. - James Suckling. This is the first time I notice a Riserva designation on this wine. The Petrolo 2019 Val d'Arno di Sopra Riserva Bòggina C reveals a dark and slightly evolved bouquet that builds upon the ripe and concentrated personality of this classic vintage. Dried cherry and blackcurrant are followed by toasted spice, tarry smoke and leather. The tannins are polished and smooth, and the wine strikes a generous, medium-bodied approach. Only at the very end do you notice a cheerful but fleeting spot of sweetness. - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate. A really distinctive nose here filled with floral and red fruit aromas. The palate is mouthwatering and plush at the same time giving ripe, chewy and generous fruit flavors but with a finessed touch. Careful winemaking at play here with such brightness and balanced acidity all the way through. First time on the Place this year. 3,000 bottled produced. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter. Though focused with cherry, berry and plum flavors, this lively red is accented by vanilla and spice flavors, showing a hint of iron and wild herbs on the finish. Fine harmony. Drink now through 2030. 850 cases made, 75 cases imported. - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator. The 2019 Boggina is an ethereal, translucent wine. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, mint and white pepper are some of the notes that come across in this attractive wine.
