Description:	"The 2005 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Perrieres Vieilles Vignes (from 55-year-old vines below Mazis, and tasted on the eve of its bottling) displays aromas of smoked meat and salted nuts clearly influenced by its recent sulfuring, but sweet boysenberry, tart elderberry and rose petals are right behind. In the mouth, this exhibits a salty, chalky, stony mineral character and high-tension acidity that remind me of high elevation north-of-Gevrey terroir, and a refreshing, sorbet-like expression of black fruits. Subtle sweetness and a fine edge of acidity, juiciness and minerality inform an elegant, refined, yet ultimately indefinable finish.
