While you'd think this is would be a second wine, the reality is that they only produce a limited amount of their single-vineyards, so this base Santa Barbara County release gets quite a bit of first-tier juice. It offers gorgeous blueberry and black raspberry notes to go with lots of pepper, licorice and violet characteristics on the nose. Just as good on the palate, with full-bodied richness and tons of texture, this is a no-brainer to enjoy over the coming 5-6 years.
