Amrut Fusion Whisky 750ml
Description: | History,. When the Indian gods and the demons churned the oceans, a golden pot popped out containing the Elixir of Life. That pot was called the Amrut, a great name for this whisky; it is made from select Indian barley grown at the base of the Himalayas, mixed with some peated barley from Scotlandand that is how this expression was calledFusion. The fusion of barleys is carefully mashed and distilled in small batches before being laid down to rest in oak barrels in a tropical climate, at an altitude of 3,000 feet above sea level. All of these factors converge to create a completely unique whisky. Tasting Notes:. Nose: shows wood fired bread, honey, vanilla powder, malt sugar, shaved dark chocolate, toasted coconut, dried blossoms and soft smoke; these are ample and seductively comforting aromas. Palate: The gentleness of the nose turns into huge, full blown, spicy peat quite quickly. After the surprising burst of peat subsides, patient, quiet flavors like pear and pineapple are revealed as all of this is held together by a suspenseful fudge and oak spice undercurrent throughout. Finish: Huge flavors and the delicate flavor with a subtle chocolaty warmth that linger to remind you that you were the actual winner in the struggle. This is magnificent whisky; try it neat, or even better with a little water, but be prepared to be astonished. |
