| Description: | Scott Harvey has had a long and illustrious career in the wine industry. As a European-trained winemaker, he began his career in 1974 and is considered to be a pioneer in establishing Amador County in the Sierra foothills as an internationally respected growing area. Over the years, Harvey has become known for his expertise in Zinfandel and now Barbera, claiming the Amador region has some of the best in the world. Today, Harvey continues to produce exceptional wines under the Scott Harvey Wines label, using fruit from his estate vineyard and other top sites in the region. Jana Harvey, along with her husband Scott, has been a critical partner in the development and success of Scott Harvey Wines. Scott remains a highly respected figure in the Amador County wine community and is known for his dedication to quality and his passion for winemaking. Jana Harvey brings 35 years of sales and marketing experience to the wine industry. A transplanted Mid-Westerner who got bitten by the "wine bug," she came to California in the early 80s. During the resurgence of the premium wine business, she has worked in pioneering brands with industry leaders such as Manfred Esser of Cuvaison and Roy and Walt Raymond of Raymond Vineyards. In the late 1990s, she met her perfect partner, Scott Harvey, and they started their own wine company, Scott Harvey Wines, in 2004. |
